​Casting Workshop

Sara Short  -  Sophie Holland Casting 

Join Actor and Casting Director Sara Short for an online session on self-tapes followed by a Q & A.  The session will involve some prep work from a script beforehand with individual feedback either verbal or written. Please ensure you have a copy of the script from Lisa after booking.

 

                                                                                                       In 2021, Sara made a leap into casting and landed an assistant job at Sophie Holland Casting where she has been working ever since. Throughout her time there she has worked on some incredible projects such as The Continental [Lionsgate/Starz], The Witcher S3 [Netflix] and Constellations [Apple]

Dundee Fringe

JD Henshaw is a multi-award-winning theatre maker, playwright, producer, and venue director. He has worked in theatre and events for over twenty years, curating and operating Sweet Productions and Sweet Venues for well over a decade. He creates artist spaces year-round in Brighton and Dundee. As a producer, he has brought work from all over the world to Brighton and the UK, as well as producing UK artists on national and international tours, with shows active across the world. He chaired the Association of Independent Venue Producers as part of the Edinburgh Fringe for 12 years, acted as a board member for Brighton Fringe, and is the founder and artistic director of Dundee Fringe, SweetFest, Brighton HorrorFest, and Once&Future  - a new festival celebrating folkloric tradition and performance. JD continues to write and direct theatre, with his critically-acclaimed Jekyll & Hyde: A One-Woman Show currently touring the world.'

Monologue Writing Workshop

Lisa Nicoll

                                                                                          Join playwright and producer Lisa Nicoll to develop & write a monologue as a standalone extract or as part of a bigger piece.  An opportunity to write an active story for the stage that focuses on character, observation and the wider world These pieces will be used as part of Daniel Cameron’s Acting workshop in April. Can be booked as part of set of 2 workshops - second workshop is Saturday 29th March

Lauren is a producer within the Pictures team at Blazing Griffin and has worked across many of their projects, including feature films “Anna and the Apocalypse”, “Book of Love”, “Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound”, and most recently “California Schemin”. Previously, Lauren Produced numerous award winning indie short and feature films, and also worked with several notable companies and productions teams, including The Comedy Unit, Shed Media, Minnow Films, The Foundation TV, and STV Creative

Script Reading and Sharing Day

Have you written something? – Have you found an existing script that brings spark?

 

Today is an opportunity to bring together actors, writers and directors and hear excerpts of work that individuals would like to share and hear for future life whether new or established, large or small.

 

Come along as a performer to read, a writer to share or a director to facilitate

 

The aim is to start to build for a wider performance of work.

 

Lisa will facilitate the day

Keeping Match Fit with The Voice

As performers, it's important to 'keep the engine running' in terms of maintaining good vocal habits, but it's also good to have a chance to explore new territory in a safe, empowering environment. Perhaps you've always wanted to sing a certain song, but doubted whether you could pull it off? Maybe you've always wanted to showcase an accent, but haven't had the chance to add the final polish to your performance? Well, this workshop is your chance to shine! 

 

Michael will be on hand to share some top tips and tricks for getting you match-fit for performance & have audition material readily available in your bag of tricks!!
